The Power of Thought

You don't have to look very far for signs if you're looking, guidance if you're asking... or educating yourself with the power of knowledge from others that have come before you.


Leave the road. Take the trails." - Pythagoras ⁣

⁣Looking up Pythagoras… because that’s what I do. I fall for a quote, look up its source… and dive deeper into the meaning of why THIS quote showed up for me. ⁣Some call this process going down the rabbit hole, others divine timing; rhapsodomancy and other forms of primitive bibliomancy has been around for centuries.



Pythagoras, an ancient Greek philosopher and polymath, grew up before the age of Socrates and Plato... He was controversial... and ahead of his time... And I'm learning those that stay agreeable bring nothing to the table but familiar taste. It's the controversial thinkers and outside of the box explorers that push open the doors to horizons that go further than we've been told.


I read Pythagoras studied the lyre, poetry and Homer. I’m already falling in love with his commitment; to learn the ukulele feels daunting because I have no rhythm, I’m tone deaf… and my hands are stiff from trauma. ⁣

I find myself romanticizing the feeling of his, all numbers have personalities. And now the power of individual numbers… the abstract quantity that each number is not a number but seen as a whole. ⁣

I think about all my steps leading to here… Fifty-three years… are no longer individual moments; not 600+ months, 19,000+ days or 464,000+ hours. Not one leg moves forward without the motion of the other following. No step is taken without acknowledging the journey as a whole… EVEN if it’s incomplete. ⁣

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱. ⁣

Life is an experiment… Stepping outside of comfort zones, investing time to do things differently… learning to acknowledge our presence in life.



When I walk by a mirror, I'm now consciously telling myself I’m going a great job… your looking good and good for you. ⁣I’m not a person of affirmations, but I am a person of positive reinforcement.

According to the National Science Foundation, 80% of our thoughts are negative and 95% of our thoughts are repetitive.

The things a person says to themselves stem from a place of less than… even if it’s not harsh. Our thoughts carries undertones of… you could do more… and the flip side of you’re not doing enough. ⁣



Reframing my thoughts through 3 main questions... journal prompts everyday... I've been able to find peace.. acknowledge moment end forward.. reflect and rewrite the past by forcing myself to see things differently.. to look for moments of change... to create momentum and movement.


Answering these questions, understanding the power of my focus and how to make it intentional is something I wished I had known sooner. I wish I would have been doing it longer; to be able to reflect and see the distance of my journey... and fine tune my trajectory. This is not something they teach in school... This is not something parents share... or teachers give time to before their class begins.... If so, I think the difference would show in how we alter and choose to show up and reclaim our lives.


Studies have proven journaling speeds up the physical healing process with the powerful benefit of better sleep increasing mental & emotional wellbeing...

I'm currently in writing process of creating such a tool. I feel I'm on a race for time to get this out there before I leave in mid April for Spain. But with those tools, I know it's possible. Because of these tools... I've been able to create more personal momentum. It's not about journaling... it's the advanced tools of how to journal that transforms your life.
